European aid hanging fire

In its latest report, dated mid-November, the European Union’s court of accounts said that 103.8 million euro due to Sudan under the Stabex compensation fund in compensation for export revenue losses going back to 1990 were still blocked in June 2000 despite a fruitless approach by the European Commission to the authorities in Khartoum to decide how it would be spent. (...)   [412 words]   [€5]
