IMF SHOWS A TOUGH GRIP

Fund donors for Tanzania attending an informal meeting in Paris on December 14 decided to leave it to the International Monetary Fund to decide on releasing international aid to that country. IMF is to despatch a mission to Dar es Salaam to evaluate the amount of customs charges which are due to the Treasury and which the government has already managed to get hold of; eight companies are due to pay US$5 million by the end of this month. (...)   [556 words]   [€8]
