A parliamentary commission headed by Edward Oyombe Ayila has accused head of state Hassan Ali Mwinyi's chief secretary Paul Rupia, his former finance minister Kigoma Malima, and several top officials in the Bank of Tanzania and National Bank of Commerce of aiding Vinu Chavda, who is of Indo-Pakistani origins, to embezzle 600 million Tanzanian shillings (a little more than US$1 million) of government funds. (...)   [269 words]   [€5]
