KHARTOUM AND THE OIL DISTRIBUTORS

After having asked the four petroleum product distribution companies (Agip, Mobil, Nile Petroleum Co, Shell) at the beginning of February to pay the government (which imports the products, fixes prices, and determines distribution quotas) their bills on reception and not after traditional delays, the Khartoum authorities are believed to have now done an about-turn and plan to abandon their near-monopoly on imports. (...)   [248 words]   [€5]
