THE BANYAMULENGUE FILE
The victorious blitzkrieg of Tutsi rebels in Eastern Zaire required solid military preparations and logistical support and it is clear it must have had considerable regional complicity. Despite Ugandan head of state Yoweri Museveni's denials in Kampala at end-November that he didn't know a thing about the Banyamulengue problem, aid for the rebels came mainly from the Rwandan Patriotic Front army headed by general Paul Kagame.
