Rajoelina's chaotic consecration as President

The appointment of a new Prime Minister and a government of national unity in late 2011 after many months of hesitation by the President of the High Authority for Transition (HAT), Andry Rajoelina known as TGV, paves the way for an exit to the Malagasy crisis. It also marks a start of normalizing TGV’s relations with international institutions and embassies, who have shunned him since his violent accession to power in March 2009. Legitimized at last, the President of the HAT is preparing for the presidential elections to be held in 2012. We look back on the two and a half years of political maneuvering to get here.
