A “Leila University” Soon to Open Doors?
Is the close-down of the Universite Libre de Tunis on Jan. 25 a prelude to the inauguration of a future Leila Ben Ali university? Since the first private higher education establishment in Tunisia, founded in 1973 by Mohamed Bouebdelli was “suspended” - until 2014 - by the higher education ministry, the wife of president Ben Ali has been pressing ahead with her project of private university at Carthage, according to our sources.
