How Bolloré got his hands on the port of Conakry

Seventeen police officers searched the premises of the Bolloré group in Puteaux in the western suburbs of Paris at the start of April. They were investigating supposed misappropriation of company assets and took particular interest in the way in which the concession for operation of the port of Conakry was awarded. This procedure, which was followed by West Africa Newsletter and is the subject of this special report, enabled the French group to obtain the contract in 2011 on the basis of a decision taken by Alpha Conde, who came to power the same year, even though he had attributed it a few years earlier to Bolloré's competitor, Necotrans.
