The race is on for the Kainji US air base construction contract

The 12 A-29 Super Tucano ground attack aircraft to be delivered by the United States to Nigeria will be complemented by an extension of the Kainji air base in the small town of New Bussa in Niger State. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) plans to invest $25-100 million to enable the aerodrome to accommodate these aircraft, as well as other future American operations.
