Hery and TGV obliged to agree if they are to succeed

If he is to succeed, the new president Hery Rajaonarimampianina must loosen his ties with the outgoing president Andry "TGV" Rajoelina, but without nevertheless upsetting him. The relations between the two men have not always been smooth: TGV humiliated Hery on several occasions before finally selecting him as his preferred candidate for the second round in the presidential election. The new Malagasy Head of State therefore has a grudge against his mentor. But TGV will keep a close watch on him: his party Mapar won a third of the seats in the new national assembly and will therefore comprise the core of the new presidential parliamentary majority. We take a look at the ups and downs in this duo’s difficult relations.
