Chamber of Mines plays hide and seek with civil society on VAT talks
A meeting on the controversial subject of VAT payments by mining companies in the DRC had been due to take place in the offices of the Chamber of Mines. When NGOs, and civil society bodies made it clear they wanted to take part, however, another venue was found and the meeting took place out of the public eye.
