An intriguing fixture of the Chadian political landscape for over two decades, businessman Abakar Manany was one of Idriss Déby's closest advisers, and then one of his fiercest opponents. Living between Dubai, Paris and Washington, he made a comeback with Mahamat Idriss Déby, before being abruptly dismissed in July.
