The High Serigne of Dakar and the chief of the Kel Ansar Tuareg tribe have begun a discreet operation to bring together traditional West African chiefs. Backed by presidents Macky Sall and Assimi Goïta, they are looking to set up a tool for crisis mediation.

When African leaders attended a summit meeting in Washington earlier this month, Namibian President Hage Geingob and his ministerial entourage highlighted his ambition to turn his country into a major exporter of green hydrogen. But unlike Europeans, his hosts seemed less than enthusiastic.
