UN ponders future of its African peace operations

The United Nations is mulling its next operational steps in Africa. Several ideas are due to be submitted to the Security Council and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres between now and December. Behind the scenes, Ghana is particularly active on this issue.

Intelligence-controlled media back Sisi's stance on Gaza

The Egyptian president is refusing to allow Palestinians from Gaza to resettle in Sinai – a scenario advocated by both Washington and Tel Aviv. Egyptian public opinion is largely behind Sisi on this issue, encouraged by the TV channels of United Media Services, which are controlled by the intelligence services.
