Kazakhstan's Eurasian Resources Group, which runs the Metalkol metal reprocessing venture, has been working hard to build itself a reputation for responsible management in the DRC. Israeli businessman Dan Gertler has jeopardised its efforts, however, with a headline-grabbing proposition to use some of the proceeds from the venture to set up an investment scheme for the benefit of the DRC public.
