Task forces are becoming part of the political landscape in Gabon. A first group was created in June to oversee domestic debt (Africa Intelligence, 21/10/20), then a second was formed last month to "accelerate the transformation of the country before the 2023 presidential election". These task forces, primarily set up to coordinate work between different government departments, are not official legal entities nor do they have an assigned budget. Yet in reality, they operate like executive structures
