Dismissed in Libreville in its dispute with Orabank, Titane Constructions turns to the CCJA

For two years, the company Titane Constructions has been seeking compensation after the public auction of a piece of land valued at nearly €20m by the bank Orabank. The matter has been referred to the Ohada Common Court of Justice and Arbitration.

Santullo family remain in banking limbo

Guido Santullo's family is trying to have at least one of his Swiss accounts, all of which have been frozen since 2018, released. This request was just rejected by the Swiss justice system, which is investigating corruption allegedly committed by the Italian construction contractor in Gabon.

Santullo family assets in at least five Swiss banks still frozen amid graft probe

Sericom, the Italian construction group founded by the late Guido Santullo, continues to face legal proceedings in France and Switzerland over allegations of bribery. Earlier this month, Santullo's family conclusively lost a long legal fight to recover some 90bn CFA francs (about $150m) it says Gabon owes it in unpaid invoices.

In 2019 Gabon was ordered by a Paris arbitration panel to pay the equivalent of €137m in unpaid invoices to the late Guido Santullo's Sericom construction group. On Tuesday, the country managed to have that arbitration overturned arguing that the Italian contractor had obtained its contracts by paying Gabonese officials.

Magloire Ngambia was released from his three-year prison sentence for embezzlement of public funds on 24 September but still stands accused of passive corruption that helped out the late Italian entrepreneur Guido Santullo. The Swiss federal public prosecutor has frozen 65m Swiss francs on the deceased public works magnate's accounts.
