Ouattara and Embalo face off over extension to ECOWAS mandate in Guinea and Mali

The Ivorian president had to confront his Guinea-Bissau counterpart Umaro Sissoco Embalo to extend the current mandate of the ECOWAS commission over post-coup Guinea and Mali by several months. It was a tense showdown during which Macky Sall tried to mediate.
