Tokyo puts pressure on Kenyatta over Mombasa port management
Japan would like a private operator, preferably Japanese, to take over the concession of terminal 2 of the port of Mombasa. This puts President Uhuru Kenyatta in an uncomfortable position with regard to the dockers' unions, in the run-up to the general elections scheduled for August.
