Somali's senate speaker election sets the stage for presidential poll
One day before the House of the People elects its speaker on 28 April, the Senate will do the same. Once both houses have their leader, the presidential election can begin.
By removing the Ogaden National Liberation Front - an Ethiopian Somali nationalist organisation - from the list of terrorist organisations, Prime Minister Roble, who is losing ground in Mogadishu, is seeking to undermine the credibility of outgoing President Farmajo in front of his Ethiopian ally.
President Farmajo's National Security Adviser has made a mark on both his country and the Somali region of Ethiopia and has been able to deflect attacks from the president's enemies as well as certain Gulf states thanks to his robust network of influence.
