New head of French forces Laurent Boite set to arrive in August

Apart from the fact that he is taking up his post in a region rendered explosive by the civil war in neighbouring Ethiopia, General Laurent Boite, who was until now number two in the French special operations command, will have to try to smooth relations with the Djiboutian authorities despite France's failure so far to renew its military cooperation treaty with them.
