Mohammed VI Polytechnique: a stepping-stone to the crown prince's future court

Moulay Hassan's enrolment into the university served as a royal blessing for OCP boss Mostafa Terrab's pride and joy. The institute is on the way to becoming a nursery for the future royal entourage, or Makhzen. It is also at the vanguard of the palace's battle over education with the PJD party.

There was no official announcement or public ceremony, although the news was somehow leaked to a handful of news websites seen as close to the Royal Palace, then quickly confirmed by major media outlets. Such was the Palace's canny PR operation surrounding the October 2020 enrolment of 18-year-old Moulay Hassan into the l'Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique's (UM6P) faculty of governance and social and economic sciences (FGSES).
