Pretoria imposes itself in Anglo American's restructuring plan

Gwede Mantashe's Ministry of Mines and the NUM and AMCU unions, which were instrumental in the failure of BHP's takeover bid for Anglo American, want to have a greater say in the mining group's South African strategy. For his part, CEO Duncan Wanblad has confirmed redundancy plans and the sale of Amplats and De Beers.
