British Petroleum

British Petroleum, more commonly referred to as BP, is one of Britain’s two supermajor oil companies, along with Shell. A long-standing operator in the Angolan oil industry, the company recently established itself on the border between Senegal and Mauritania through the acquisition in February 2017 of the enormous gas field in Tortue from the American firm Kosmos. The field’s reserves are estimated at 25 to 50 trillion cubic feet.
