Russians Lukoil and TMK hunt for African contracts in Cape Town
Many representatives from Russia attended the 28th edition of Africa Oil Week in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Norwegian firm has been stalling for two years on its DWT/CTP licence in Ghana. It has once again postponed submitting plans for the offshore Pecan field, citing the presence among its partners of the Russian company Lukoil, whose founder is under Western sanctions.
Run by figures close to the seat of power of Moscow, Roscongress Foundation is using the holding of international events to further Russia's drive to extend its links in Africa beyond its longstanding partners in the north of the continent.
