After unsuccessfully bidding for a piece of the Simandou iron ore market in partnership with Australia's Fortescue, Ahmed bin Dalmook al-Maktoum, a distant cousin of the emir of Dubai, has found an alternative bauxite project, which could be up and running quickly. His partner is another Australian firm, TerraCom.
