Obsolete mining collective labour agreement to be overhauled
Senegal's obsolete collective labour agreement for the mining sector is about to be overhauled.
Already criticised in 2019 for hiring CRBC to work on the access road to the Blaise Diagne airport without a tender process, the road management agency Ageroute has now awarded the Chinese infrastructure giant a six-month extension to its contract.
Dutch development agency FMO and the African Development Bank have opened an investigation into the financing of the Sendou power station by a group of promoters led by Stockholm-based businessman Louis Claude Norland Suzor. The two institutions have invested over $110 million in the power station with little to show for it.
