EU to take up French wheat producers' discrimination claim with Algiers

In a few days, a European Commission delegation will travel to Algiers for talks about alleged discrimination against French soft wheat producers in the latest tender call from the Algerian cereals office.

Dakar flour production could grind to a halt over unpaid subsidies

Senegalese millers are threatening to stop flour production if the government does not pay them promised subsidies, which they say amount to €58m. They have already drastically reduced their supplies from grain traders.

FARM coordinator in Addis to work with AU on food security

France's Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle, who coordinates the international initiative FARM, which seeks to provide food security in the countries most dependent on agricultural imports, will be at the AU headquarters from 6 to 7 July. The pan-African organisation wants to lift the barriers blocking Africa's access to essential food products, even those from Russia.
