Facing mounting health, regulatory, and geopolitical pressures, the Moroccan phosphate giant is seeking to protect its market share in Africa, where regulations are less stringent, whilst they are becoming stricter in Europe. The group is now turning to sub-Saharan markets to sell its high-cadmium fertilisers and capitalise on a legal loophole.
