Tunis' new energy strategy fails to convince foreign investors
Tunisia has been trying to attract new foreign investors to its energy sector. But red tape and other administrative hurdles make many firms wary.
French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin was supposed to have accompanied his Italian counterpart Matteo Piantedosi on a visit to Tunis on 16 but his assertion that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was "incapable of solving the migration problems" made a joint trip impossible, so Piantedosi travelled alone.
Nommé en février, le nouveau ministre tunisien des affaires étrangères, Nabil Ammar, impose peu à peu à sa marque. Sans bruit, il a limogé mi-mars le directeur général pour l'Europe, l'Union européenne et la Méditerranée du ministère, Khalil Tazarki.
