Osama Daoud Abdellatif's agricultural empire turns towards the Gulf

The Sudanese conglomerate DAL Group, backed by Emirati funds, is pursuing its investments in pivot-irrigation agriculture in the Sudanese desert. The firm had plans to integrate that development into the container terminal project north of Port Sudan, opposite Saudi Arabia. But the war that broke out on Saturday could put a halt to the project.

Ruto threatens Odinga with International Criminal Court case

The Kenyan president is threatening to take opposition leader Raila Odinga to the International Criminal Court if he doesn't put an end to anti-government riots. Ruto himself appeared before the ICC a decade ago accused of orchestrating deadly post-electoral violence, but the case against him was eventually dismissed.
