Rand Refinery bets on artisanal gold from Tanzania and Ghana, but not at home

Facing pressure from shareholders and from Pretoria, which is concerned about illegal mining practices, the Johannesburg-based refiner is not planning to process gold coming from the domestic artisanal industry.
