Rio Tinto

Rio Tinto is an Anglo-Australian mining company and one of the world leaders in the production of aluminium, iron ore, copper and uranium. The company was for several years involved in a dispute with Guinea over the ownership of a licence for the giant iron ore deposit at Simandou but eventually threw in the towel in October 2016 and withdrew from the country. Since then, it has been the subject of several international investigations into the alleged bribery of Guinean state officials.
