The huge hotel complex that once occupied Point Almadies, the westernmost cape of the African continent, a short distance from downtown Dakar, has lost its former splendour. The buildings that until the end of the 2000s hosted Club Méditerranée holidaymakers lured by the promise of an affordable all-inclusive holiday now lie in ruins.
