Transport ministry hits the buffers in hunt for railway funds
Tunisia has just set out the goals of its national railway strategy and a lot of funding still needs to be found.
Foued Othman, adviser to transport minister Moez Chakchouk, is to move to the ports and merchant marine office. His job will be to ensure that the partial privatisation planned for the port of Rades is carried out, enabling it to receive a $330m grant from the US's Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
The new head of Tunisia's ports and merchant navy, Mahmoud Bouziri, who used to work for Maersk, hopes to sort out legal problems over Radès port concessions facing the Danish giant's subsidiary, Star Container.
