On 26 September, a Gabonese delegation attempted to persuade Denis Sassou-Nguesso to accept Libreville's position in support of referring Antoinette Sassou-Nguesso to the Paris criminal court. This greatly angered Brazzaville, against the backdrop of a power struggle for control of the Parti Démocratique Gabonais.
