Nicoletta Gaida, the private diplomat weaving Rome's anti-migrant alliance from the Sahel to Libya
The president of the NGO Ara Pacis, Nicoletta Gaida, an actress who moved into private diplomacy, has embarked on numerous mediation initiatives in the Sahel, in close collaboration with the Italian state and in harmony with its intelligence services. In the long run, Rome hopes that the resolution of conflicts in the region, from which most of the migrants arriving in Italy depart, will reduce the pressure on its borders.
